Okinawan Shorin Ryu shows this type of (sans hikete )posture when practicing with the makiwara.

Apparently not if this photograph is anything to go by K7, I would say: if there is one certainty about wado it has to be that everything alive is also in a state of change.??One that I'm unsure about is the keeping the body squared, which is seen a lot in shotokan. Whenever I saw Otskua II or Otsuka III, their bodies are 45 degrees.
