I have noticed a few different books pop up in various discussions and I was curious if any consideration has been made about making a section for recommended readings about karate, budo, falling off the wagon, or any other material related to a karateka's journey.

Any recommendations? As Wado material is sparse and spread out over the last 40 years it would be great to have some reference for some of the highlights out there...

I can start some 'archive' or reference sections where we can save items like books, videos and other resources in such a way that they are not mixed in amongst all the chat.

I defer to your expertise as far as implementation but I think there is a lot of material out there they could warrant discussion so the 'archive' idea sounds good...

If you haven't already discovered this book, even though it's not Wado specific I fully recommend "In the Dojo" Dave Lowry.

You could do a lot worse than start with this selection:

http://seinenkai.com/articles/swift/swift-tidbits1.html

There are 4 parts to this article on the early karate books, but the page numbers are easily missed - they are in the title block at the top of the page.

Sensei Ohgami´s new book "fem ringars bok" is definately worth reading.

Besides the general history of Musashi´s life in Japan, Musashi´s art is presented in the book.

But most importantly, it deals many of musashi´s principles in a wado context.

I think the price was very reasonable = 230 kronor

You can view the 1935 Karatedo Kyohan here:

http://www.hawaii.edu/asiaref/okinawa/d ... on1935.pdf

About 2/3rds the way through are the pictures of Otsuka partnering with Funakoshi and Shimoda.
