Wado-Kai Karatedo Textbook - Kata Section (Vol. I)

Post by claas »

Hi,

There is a newish very good Wadokai book that shows stances, kihon and ten katas. (9 + Niseishi.)

I have been scanning it through and it looks very good. It gives good advice, has good pictures and answers questions anyone might have about technical standards.

It seems Wadokai wanted to make this thing right. Some sperring mistakes are included but I was positively surprised of the quality.

Does anyone know if there are more of these books coming?
Additional katas?
Kihon kumite?
... ?

Hi Shep,

I am not aware of a link. The only thing I know is that many friends from Finland and Sweden brought the book from the Wadokai world championships.

I think it is a really nice text book. There is some Japanese English in there for good measure (and the culprit has confessed too!) but most of it has been translated by a professional translator who was also a practicing karateka in Arakawa sensei's dojo.

There is a kihon gumite book in production too, but I would be surprised if it arrives any time soon.

So far, I have not seen a link for how to buy over the internet but I expect that will change. Alternatively, drop a line to wadokai office, I am sure they will accept a bank payment or cash by post (price is 3,000 Yen plus postage).

Thanks, Shep. Same for me.

I am trying to get some help from Japan. I will post anything if I think it will help.
