BTW, traditionally Duvel is brewed with two hops. Annually, the brewers at Duvel go looking for a third hop to treat Duvel fans a with a new beer, namely the Duvel Triple Hop.

This year, the brewers opted for a Japanese hop, Sorachi Ace viz. This hop gives the Duvel a fresh exotic touch with a very small mint flavor and is very tasty with spicy sushi. From March this Duvel Triple Hop can be obtained in the beer market and from April in most supermarkets. Also in cafes will Duvel Triple Hop be bestowed.

So Kate, I think we never met each other (yet), but it looks like this weekend you got the chance to be one of the first to taste this brand new Japanese variant of Duvel ;-)

Coincidence...

I've met Kate Williams in Leuven-Belgium last weekend and had a very very good Wado-ryu training session under her guidance.
My former trainer (Paul Van Cleynenbreugel) was originally inviting Tony Heap sensei that weekend, but sadly he got seriously ill.
Luckily he brought two of his senior students to assist him - Kate Williams and Jakub Romanowski and they did a very good job leading the seminar.

And yes, on Saturday evening we had a Duvel together :) not the new Tripel Hop as it was not available (yet), but had a nice time for sure.

Thank you Kate, hope to see you Leuven-Belgium again sometime and hope your sensei is doing well.

Regards

PS: some translation may got lost here as English is not my native language...

Unfortunately circumstances and other things mean a no for this year.

I will have another think after the summer.

Peter,

It was great to train with you guys. A really good energy and feel to the two sessions. We also appreciated your "beer guidance" on Saturday night and we will definitely need to come again so we can finally find the triple hop!

Sensei is feeling much better, which is great news, and he was teaching again on Saturday, which was even greater news for me ;0)

Hope to see you soon.
