FEW European Karate Championship

From 2nd to 4th November 2012, took place the F.E.W. European Karate Championship in Lignano Sabbiadoro - Venice - Italy, gathering Wadokai practitioners around Europe in one of the most important annual karate events, attending 14 countries: Italy, England, Wales, Northern Ireland, Spain, Portugal, Russia, Ukraine, Macedonia, Ireland, Armenia, Holland, Sweden and Romania. Spain delegation come back with 3 medals in their luggage.
Spanish karateka borned in Madrid, Tamara Sanchez-Martin, reached the European karate glory past Saturday when she got the gold medal in Female Kata category. Sanchez-Martin adds this medal to her extense competition curriculum becoming the Spanish Kata athlete most awarded in international events. She did a wonderful Kushanku kata in the final, defeating another great karateka competitor from England.
David Gonzalez-Arjona, from Ciudad Real, ends up a very good championship getting the bronce medal in Male Kumite under 75Kg very competitive category. He couldn't fight for the gold medal after drawing against Eldar Khametov from Russia who passed to the final by Hantei referees decision.
In Male Kumite Team category the team coached by Javier Martin-Lopez was able to defeat the host Italian Team in the bronce medal fights. The team is formed by JoseLuis Granja-Bruna, David Gonzalez-Arjona, Ricardo Castellanos-Macias and Artur Martin-Franklin which ended the tournament injured after the fight against Macedonian competitor. Javier Martin-Lopez was able to read perfectly each fight and he conducted his men to this bronze medal which taste reminds gold medal seeing the strong teams of Macedonia (first position) and Russia (second position).
