old films of Suzuki, Donovon and Spanton

Post by blackcat »

Some short b&w news reports here:

http://www.itnsource.com/searchresults/

The first shows Suzuki doing ohyo gumite - maybe with Bob Wignall?

Then the second longer clip shows a class in progress, at the front is a young Ticky Donovan then he does free fighting with (I think) Peter Spanton.

If the link doesn't work then search for karate + 1960's. Easy to find.

Edit 27/Apr: One more short film in the ITV archive here:

http://www.itnsource.com/en/shotlist/IT ... &st=0&pn=1

If the link doesn't work then search the archive for ref: FS270565006

Thanks for the link. Some very interesting footage.
I'm pretty sure that is Peter Spanton, that mawashi geri looks far too familiar, gave me flashbacks to being on the end of it a few times at his Dojo in Forest gate when I was training with him.
