It shows' Tatsuo Suzuki with T.Maeda and K. Sakagami. What's particularly good about this film is you get a chance to see how fast T.Suzuki's kicking technique was.

I think this is his demo at the 1989 World Cup although the description says it is 1982 European Championships (which were also held in London).

Fantastic demo. The economy of motion looks stunning. NO wasted flashy stuff, just effective. Suzuki sensei was really impressive!

I'm pretty sure I remember seeing some 1980's TV footage of Enoeda sensei doing that as well.

I know there are a lot of karate haters on YouTube (or just generally a lot of haters of everything on there) but Wado seems less disrespected on it because of displays such as this. It's very practical and not at all floury. I've just begun studying Wado after taking Goju for a while and I like its differences.

this was mentioned on the old AK forum. I remember the advert quite well, mid 70's I think and I believe it was cheesy balls he was advertising

Enoeda sensei had his dojo right in the middle of London just off Carnaby St I think it was, really prime tourist location. You had to walk up several flights of stairs which I think was the regarded as the warm up routine. Nice dojo though and it must have been worth a fortune. You could often see posters of him on the nearby underground stations doing his trade mark mawashi geri so I guess his face was well known to those who travelled through London regularly.

There's a book called 'Know Karatedo', its a bit of a curiousity as it featured Mr Enoeda and Mr Suzuki paired together showing basic blocking techniques. Plenty of copies to be found on ebay if anyone is interested it.
