Heijoshin dojo biraki

Hi all, thought I'd share this with you guys.

This weekend, my Koryu bujutsu group were invited to perform an embu to celebrate the grand opening of the new Heijoshin dojo.

http://nitenichiryu.co.uk/dojo/heijoshin/

The dojo that was built by the students of the club is first class - I’ll post some photos of it when I get them sent to me.

As well as the Heijoshin group who demonstrated both Seitei Iai and Niten Ichi Ryu, there was Sosuishi-ryu and Ariki ryu Koryu Bujutsu, Kyudo, Kendo, and even a bit of Wado.

There was also a display by some Iai 7th dans there (Fay Goodman and Peter West) - so no pressure there

The Wado bit was me also (and one of my Wado students Dan (who also trains in Sosuishi-ryu)), as we were asked on the day whether we would also perform Wado-ryu at the embu.

Very interesting doing Seishan wearing Hakama (no time to costume change after the Koryu embu), but it seemed to go down well with the audience and fellow participants - many of which I found out afterwards had trained in Wado at one time.

All good fun, but still recovering.

Gary

Hi Gary

Sorry I missed it. It sounds like a good day was had by all. Did anyone get any film of the day?

Cheers Dave, was good.

No videos unfortunately (some of the Ryu-ha are a bit sensative about that), but I have been told that there are lots of "official" photos that will be sent my way.
