No, I meant "Blige" - it's a London thing innit!?
It's a compounding of the words "Blimey" and "Gees" as in the son of god!

Hi Gary,
my understanding is that Cor blige is a much eroded religious entreatment of ' If God will oblige' much like the Italian 'Volente deo'. While Cor blimey is an oath.
