Ippon Kumite

Post by andyb28 »

Does anyone have any links to videos of Ippon Kumite? I am struggling to find them online.

Thanks

I think that's because they aren't standard or universal.
Kihon Gumite are universal (within Wado).

If instructors of organisations choose to create or extract techniques to make them into one step routines it's up to them.

For instance we have Ippon Gumite in our syllabus (Shikukai) but they are different to the ones in the Wado Academy or the Aiwakai.
Suzuki based schools have Sanbon Gumite and maybe someone has made a decision to cut them down to one step, that's up to them.

Thanks Tim, that helped loads.

I found these http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_0lOutZq ... 1mWKO9Avvw
Ours are the same, but obviously with 1 step.

Quick glance tells me they are the WIKF (Suzuki) Sanbon Gumite.
I remember partnering Mr Fukazawa for these techniques when we were both training under Suzuki Sensei's direction.
