That is very well put. We are fragmented geographically, within different associations and may have different goals from our karate, but I think it is more important that we appreciate what we do have in common. If we can foster a sense of unity and solidarity based on the commonality, then that can't be a bad thing. I have the patience to see that happen. Which I why I haven't been suspending people along the way. Aside from trolls and their disruption surely there is enough of a common reason and platform.

Time passes along for all of us. Time has ended for some of the leading lights of Wado so far. Why not appreciate what has gone before, share in those stories and look forward to what is to come. At some point in the not too distant future, there will be less. Then who are left?

I agree whole-heartedly and perhaps in this way we will a develop the mature facility for a wider mind to appreciate our differences also as being something in keeping with the wider wado ryu diaspora that Ohtsuka meijin hoped for when gifting wado ryu to the western world.

John, is that your response to a request that centres on courtesy, openness and honesty?
No of course not...But I really like the anonymity in the forums. Its easier and you can talk about lot of things without watching first(in a good way) what you write because you are a known person or not.Anyway...
I guess all here can be happy with Gordon as the Admin, I would not have been as easy going as him.
Don’t getting wrong but if the admin was you and not Gordon I wouldn’t be here...
Thanks to the Internet it’s a small world. Wado makes it even smaller. The fact that people ally themselves to specific groups within Wado makes it shrink all the more. Add to that prior knowledge of country of origin and the puddle is drying up even more.
And not many champions from Wado either makes its smaller and smaller....

I had the same deliberations. I also manage a news portal for the Wado Academy because I have the ability, resources and desire to. It was unofficial for a long time. It was then giving the mid by Shiomitsu sensei, which can bring it's own pressures, self-generated I may add.

I worried about whether any personal remarks on forums like here would be taken as official or whether it could be viewed by sensei that I am somehow trying too speak for the association and was I going to get into trouble and so on. Now that I approach middle age, probably there already, then if I am open and mature about it it is so much easier.

This is one of my problems acer,
You tend to make things personal.

I was just saying in general that i would Be more strict, which i can eleborate on with several examples because i have an opinion that is based on thinking And Then doing Instead of THE other way around. Most of Your responses appear to Be assumptions.

For example, with THE first sentence i was referring to general rule that one better not get personal, especially on THE internet. Have you seen Jay And Silent Bob strike back?

Maybe a red herring, perhaps prepubescence.

Or maybe Mr. Guise21 had it right a few posts back.

Those hook punches seem to come from nowhere.....
