Reminds me of the title of this thread.

Given that gentle reminders are eschewed perhaps it is time to insist on full disclosure of identity on all posts to protect this forum's integrity Gordon.

OK, I have had many opinions and thoughts over the past couple of months, both within myself and from the members of this forum.

On these forums there are those that put a lot in, there are those that only take and there are those in-between. All perfectly acceptable. There is a level of "investment" by people for which I am grateful. By investment here I don't meant that they get any gain in return, but the information and time provided is offered freely with good intentions.

I have even bought two servers from eBay to put into London to improve the speeds of this and my other sites.

In moving this forum forward, I have decided the following.

[*] The WadoPedia section will remain a members only section

[*] All participants will be required to provide their real name and location (country or city will do)

None of these are a big ask, nor are they different to many other well run/behaved forums I see.

I am off on holiday to the Far East soon and my return date is the 18th April. That will be the date from which all participation has to be on a disclosed name basis. I don't want to be bogged down by administration during this period and it will give people time to sort out their profile (I will add "How To" article) and they can may a test post into the Introduce Yourself section.

So far, this place has not been admin-heavy and from what I can see, it is one of the more active forums out there, even though it is focused on Wado Ryu.

More interesting stuff....
First a clip of Luca Valdesi teaching a seminar in Finland.

Then the review.

Also interview with Antonio Diaz, the current kata world champion was also interesting.
He currently trains with Yoshimi Inoue of Inoue-ha Shitoryu. Inoue Sensei and Takagi Sensei have many drills in common and I don't think this is an accident.

Gordon, if you are near Chiang Mai stop by. Lots of good food (I can vouch for) and I am told lots of good beer.

It's a small wado world.
In most cases, just a few cues will tell if you're for real.

Acer,

Every country, state, company, group, sub-group etc has their rules. Even among friends there might be unwritten rules.
Also, the constitution of a country might change overtime due to experience. Let's be happy that your hand is not cut off after stealing.

If you do not appreciate the efforts here and disagree with the rules, there must be other forum out there that suit your preferences.

I guess all here can be happy with Gordon as the Admin, I would not have been as easy going as him.

Thanks to the Internet it’s a small world. Wado makes it even smaller. The fact that people ally themselves to specific groups within Wado makes it shrink all the more. Add to that prior knowledge of country of origin and the puddle is drying up even more. So maybe you don’t have to be Sherlock Holmes to work out who Moriarty is.

I’m saying this because maybe the anonymity issue doesn’t matter, BUT out of solidarity and unity within this very friendly and open forum I will go along with the status quo.
