Also the grading system should be respected.

Re: Which is/are your favourite Kata?

Hi Prajit,

I tried to reply yesterday but just before posting my computer crashed..

I was wondering how you are taught kata. If I teach, I give the commands in the rythm that should be used when performing the kata.

Re: Which is/are your favourite Kata?

Ummm the form I feel most comfortable to perform is Koryo but technically you can't count it as a Kata If I were given a choice to do a kata I would probably do Seiunchin (I like the goju ryu variation over Kyokushin one) I dont know too many Wado kata currently but again I feel most comfortable wi...

Re: Kihon kumite on the opposite side

It is a difficult topic. There is the natural preference, and then there is something that feels natural after long practice.. Speaking for myself, I naturally have my left hand side it the front. However, when doing kihon gumite right hand side feels more natural. I guess this is because I have mai...

Re: Doesn't this sound familiar?

This is one of my problems acer, You tend to make things personal. I was just saying in general that i would Be more strict, which i can eleborate on with several examples because i have an opinion that is based on thinking And Then doing Instead of THE other way around. Re: Doesn't this sound familiar?

Acer, Every country, state, company, group, sub-group etc has their rules. Even among friends there might be unwritten rules. Also, the constitution of a country might change overtime due to experience. Let's be happy that your hand is not cut off after stealing. If you do not appreciate the efforts...

Re: Doesn't this sound familiar?

I would say that is how it should be.
Nevertheless, 1st move of pinan shodan right hand we call kamae. I guess it just depends on your interpretation of the word kamae. Of course, the right arm can also be used before, after or at the same time of the left jodan uke. Nothing dead there, hopefully

Re: Sparring

Hi KM7,

i'm not sure what you mean. You use the word "sparring". Do you mean jiyu gumite or shiai gumite? And do you always "just spar" like in the same way?
