That's an interesting approach Monkey mind; I might steal it. I already find myself going wide around corners though or practicing my balance on the bus by standing, that get's a weird look from the bus driver when I am the only person on the bus beside him/her. As for how often & in which way to train, I think it all depends on where you are in your life & what you're looking for in your training. In my Muay Thai days I used to train 3-5 hours per day, 5 days per week. When preparing for fight there were runs on top of that. It was good experience ...

Congratulations Andy! Would you mind sharing more about your own preparation for the grading? What was most/least valuable in the end? I'm a 2nd kyu now & hope to be making similar preparations in the not too distant future.

Fair enough, oneya. As for the relationship of dance to martial arts, this is a complex and interesting issue. And being married to a ballet teacher, I have maybe a unique perspective.
