Haha so true. But I'd never go into a Chinese restaurant and yell at the cook for not making pizza because it's my preferred food. That was the point.

May I ask what the alternative to training with straight punches is? Books for Wado

Which books are recommended for someone who's interested in not only learning more about Wado but it's history and principles. I'm sure The Book of Five Rings and Hironori Otsuka's Wado Karate are a good starting place. Any others that come to mind?

I love it! Absolutely. I have studied Tae Kwon Do, Kung Fu, Wing Chun, and Goju Ryu over the past 30 years but honestly none of them resonated with me (hence why I kept switching). In an aikido class I took, the jo was used to help understand angles. Maybe the real question is how do wado instructors teach angles?

I completely understand because I thought the same thing. But this clip was supposed to represent their style of training. This tells me this is where their focus is.
