Mr.Kimura, Thank you for your reply. I see what you are interested in. I often wondered about these kind of things. Ohtsuka sensei had access to so many kata. Why drop the others? Obviously he must have seen more logic in the kata we practice today or perhaps he found them more beneficial. On the ot...

We used to do this as a part of the warming up. Over time this was abandoned for no particular reason. Even if the class lasts two hours I still feel that it is not enough. Hence, ukemi not on my priority list.
Although, my students coincidentally asked to train it again recently.
