Re: Renzoku waza

Unfortunately, I have not had the opportunity to attend the seminarof Mr.Threadgill. Yet. But I have seen Mr. Suzuki's idori and Hakoichi's. I found tantodori a very useful thing for concentration and awareness in the fight. And no most perfect waza will never replace the pairwork. Such students of...

Re: Renzoku waza

Ben, I know grading syllabuses of JKF Wadokai (better) and WIKF. And I can compare. My opinion is that tantodori and idori contains many original body movements of Wado (like in kihon kumite). Very useful not for demonstration, but for free fighting too. And because in Japanese Wadokai these section...

Re: Renzoku waza

As for the JKF Wadokai test it has not changed much in the nearly 40 years that I remember. Our way of thinking is different. It is not an issue of quantity or doing obscure movements that would require me to secretly write down the movements on the back of my hand like a crib sheet (which I did fr...

Re: Kihon Kumite

I totally disagree with that. Suzuki was not only a great artist but a great teacher. (Kono Sakagami, etc.) When I first got on his training kata, as if I was full force. What then can be said about those who studied with him for many years. Incidentally, the gi is just disgusting.))) Asian, You to...

Re: Kihon Kumite

Acer, There is only one Suzuki Sensei. His kata is hard to imitate because he looks so strong yet he was truly strong. And most people when they try to look strong they end up being weak because trying to be strong creates excess tension and tension makes you slow and weak. We are all works in prog...

Re: Hiromasa Setamatsu

Although I really like aikido very much (the jj roots I guess) well its common knowledge that is not the best choice for self defense if you know what I mean and I stop here... Oh! You and I have very different examples of aikido and wadoryu in our kumite practiсe. If you mean self-defense, you can...

Acer,))
The only thing left for me to say is that. What you say to people practicing Aikido? They also do not study the protection against low kick. They also like in Wado learn how to fight using the principles.

Re: Hiromasa Setamatsu

Muay Thai? It is sport with the rules. Without grips and throws. No good example You are speaking about the SPORT type kumite WITH RULES of kyokushin that is knockdown and they not allowed punches in the face and you said that if were allowed then the low kicks wouldn’t be so many.. Then I answer y...

Re: Uniting wado groups

Hi everyone! I've been thinking lately about the different wado organisations and reasons for their existence. Of course I don't know the complete facts, but it's not important. What do you think, will the wado style be practiced only in one main organisation someday in the future? As opposed to th...
