Re: Can Kata from other systems be Wadoized?
I can understand Tim's point, his wado movement would naturally make its way into the kata as he performs it,maybe he wouldn't be wadoizing it so to speak but for sure it would influence it,nearly impossible not to i guess.

Re: Can Kata from other systems be Wadoized?
That is the kata Annan. It is a Ryuei ryu kata done here by Sakumoto Sensei, the Technical head of Ryuei Ryu former 3 time WKF World kata champion. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SugmDuEwhzo Shito ryu also added it to their curriculum. Done here by Antonio Diaz, current WKF world champion. http://w...

I don't know much about Nakamura Ha Takeda Ryu, but this Muto-dori was good to watch I think.

Re: The future of Wado ryu
Hi Martin, saying we ‘trained with the best’ almost certainly invites nonsense comparison that are best avoided. The fact is: any one of these organisations can get you where Wado Ryu seems to be heading. I did consider your predicate too narrow in dismissing quite a number of old wado hands about ...

Re: The future of Wado ryu
Hi Reg The reason i'm mentioning the 3 main organizations,(i took for granted everyone knew i was talking about Wado Kai ,WIKF and wado Ryu Renmei) is because i am lead to believe that these organizations are the best places to go to learn Authentic Wado.Would i be mistaken in this? Hi Martin, I ag...

The future of Wado ryu
Are people hopeful that Wado ryu will continue down a undiluted path in the decades to come.I know its a bit of a hypothetical question, but a important one nonetheless.Looking at the spread of Wado ryu throughout Europe and its many Wado based styles that went their own way it already seems shaky gr...

Re: I am a fighter. I don’t do kata.
Didn't the Okinawan's in the past practice kata alone to build fighting technique's?I know wado kata is not Okinawan kata but (and i feel personally its a big but) kata should teach valuable lessons in fighting.kata is full of fighting techniques and strategy.i feel we should have a noble pursuit or...
