Not to steal the thunder from AJ's Takahashi thread because his lineage looks interesting and of some substance but it did cause me to go to youtube where I found this.

It sorta has a wado flavour but I do not recognise the kata or kumite.

Re: Pinan Nidan
Amazing stuff and of course it is the Shintani legacy Shep. Some good reading too.

I hadn't realised that Ohtsuka sensei had devised the rules for jiyu kumite. Unfortunately the section to the 'advanced kata' was password protected, shame that.

Re: ohyu gumite
Ah sorry Ben, a typo is responsible for the little confusion that has crept in here and its entirely my fault. Re: Pinan Nidan
Up till now the trades and craftsmen were able to pass down through generations of apprentices with no dilution, and probably with improvement. The instant internet approach along with freedom of personal choice leads to the flitting from one source to another. To wado ryu's detriment or betterment...

Re: kuzushi waza
Generic is what I mean Ben but in this case I am talking specifically of wado ryu ohyo gumite or if you like Yakusoku gumite. I think we all know that Ohyo gumite, being much like wado ryu itself extends much further than the UK and European scene, however the nucleus of my ohyo gumite experience st...

Re: kuzushi waza
Hi AJ, Actually I don't talk about keiko vs renshu. I'm simply saying that we need some tools for the analysis, which is the only thing that we can do here. We use some words we have learned for some experience with an odor of sweat that we might share. Sorry for the OT. The topic of kuzushi is so ...

Re: Wado Myths
The first bow was originally meant for the mat. HI Gusei21, good to see you back here. Your new nick and writing style gave you away immediately ;). Anyway... what do they think the first bow is for then? Or do they just bow because of bowing? @Oneya I guess their idea of Wadoryu is having the dove...
