Re: Which is/are your favourite Kata?

I would say that you have to be centered. So you have to be in control of your own center. And of course you have to be able to take away your opponents control of his center. Both incredibly difficult to achieve.

Re: JKF Wadokai Seminar - Manchester

That's brilliant, thanks. Downloaded fine and putting it up now. What is really good about video is there is no hiding! To take one point, if you look at about 3 mins and 30 seconds you'll see Shimura Sensei do a gyakazuki followed by Jake doing the same. Look at their back feet. Shimura correctly u...

Re: JKF Wadokai Seminar - Manchester

Kate, I have converted it to a 44Mb WMV file. I can get it to you if you like. I don't want to put onto my server because of the bandwidth usage myself. You could then upload that onto YouTube and let them handle it. Thanks Wadoka. It's a large file to email so if you just put it on your server som...

Re: JKF Wadokai Seminar - Manchester

Finally I got the video and uploaded it. I have to admit I haven't played around much with video and the web so I put the .vob and associated files in a zip file so you can down load them and use Windows Media Player. I did try to convert it to .mp4, .mov etc. but it doubled the size and reduced the...

Re: Weights

First get some good physio now. It'll speed up your recovery, help prevent a weakness in your hamstring and reduce scar tissue. Regarding weights, reps of 1 to 5 will build muscle strength not size, reps of 6 - 7 will give equal changes in strength and size and reps of 8 to 15 will give greater size...

Re: JKF Wadokai Seminar - Manchester

Hi shep

I was there Friday and Saturday but had a cycling event already arranged for the Sunday so couldn't stay on. I did think of you all though as I struggled up some of the hills!

Cheers
