Re: (Wado and) Okinawan Karate
Hi Class I think the author of that article is away with the fairies. I heard there might be a translation of Hiroshi Kinjo's last book coming soon so that will be far more reliable. In the meantime, I recommend Andreas Quast's writing to everyone who will listen - he has really done some excellent ...

Re: Wado-Kai Karatedo Textbook - Kata Section (Vol. I)
I think it is a really nice text book. There is some Japanese English in there for good measure (and the culprit has confessed too!) but most of it has been translated by a professional translator who was also a practicing karateka in Arakawa sensei's dojo. There is a kihon gumite book in production...

Re: Gary's lone wolf howlin'
Hi Reg Having seen that thread previously I am inclined to agree they are barking up the wrong tree completely. If people want to approach their Wado karate that way my view is they would make far more progress switching to a traditional Okinawan style of karate rather than trying to re-engineer Wad...

Re: Wadoworld
Are you talking about the magazine? If so I think it suffered the curse of the 'Six Issues'. Ben Pollock's excellent Wado Journal also folded at six issues. Koshiki No Te didn't make it that far (as far as I know). Tim Shaw Essex UK Magazine are hard work though, really, they need lots of advertisi...

Re: Article by Kano: "Jujutsu and the origins of Judo" (1887
I believe this article has been quite influential and could still be. http://judoinfo.com/kano6.htm Jujutsu and the origins of Judo By Jigoro Kano and T. Lindsay, 1887 (Transactions of the Asiatic Society of Japan, Volume 15) It tries to sum up the most important stuff about jujutsu history. It als...

Thanks, glad you are enjoying it. Yes, I think I did write something about a second book, but it is someway off yet.

Re: New Wado Book
Thanks to those who have bought it so far and I hope you enjoy it. One person emailed me today to say they got it yesterday and stayed up into the small hours to read it in one go. I don't think there is anything controversial in the book (sorry to disappoint) just lots of original information which...
