Re: Wadoworld

Are you talking about the magazine?
If so I think it suffered the curse of the 'Six Issues'.
Ben Pollock's excellent Wado Journal also folded at six issues.
Koshiki No Te didn't make it that far (as far as I know).

Re: New Wado Book

I just admit I had to google Terence Donovan, there is a striking resemblance but I wouldn't like to put money on it Shep Donovan was a fan of all things Japanese (apparently it happened after he saw Seven Samurai at the cinema). He was a Buddhist and Dan grade in Judo, regular at the Budokwai. Hen...

Re: New Wado Book

Great book, I'm really enjoying it.
Query; the photos on page 105 (I think) I reckon the guy Suzuki Sensei is chucking around is 60's iconic photographer Terence Donovan. Any thoughts anyone?

Re: Shelfies

I was going to suggest a willy measuring contest - but I'd almost certainly lose that too! ;) Lighten up Gary :-) When you go into someone's house don't you find yourself drawn towards their bookshelves? With martial artists it's fun to see which books are in circulation and could act as a springbo...

Re: Competition Kata

I read it as a warning against homogenisation. Rote learning of simplified martial arts designed to make teaching to large numbers managable and as a result throwing baby out with the bathwater.

It’s already happening in Wado.

Shelfies

Here's one that might be fun. This gave me an idea. http://www.theguardian.com/books/booksblog/2013/dec/17/forget-selfies-we-want-to-see-your-shelfies But what about all you other martial arts bibliophiles? What do your bookshelves look like, and what do they tell us? If I get the chance I'll snap a...

Re: Internal Power

Will look at it again but virtually everything she did reminded me of what people who worked in agriculture and horticulture used to do all day long.
Which in a way may say more about modern lifestyles.
