There is a fantastic guy that I follow called Elastic Steel. He covers everything from stretching to strengthening. Just youtube elastic steel side kick.

I had the pleasure of training with him many years ago. He was the first top instructor I ever trained with. I think I was 9 or 10, still have his signature in my licence.

He was good back then but looks even better now.

Here is a link a Kazutaka Sensei demo in which he performs what Gordon is describing. The 4 ways of Kihon Kumite 1 starts around 6 minutes 28 seconds for those of you that are interested.
