Re: New Wado Book

Great book! On page 194 there is a picture of several british top fighters together with sensei Tatsuo Suzuki. Everybody is named except one, he is called "unknown". The unknown fighter in the picture is sensei Jon Wicks, Suzuki sensei´s successor and chief instructor of Wado International...

WIKF World Championship 2013

WIKF World Championship in London 20-22. September 2013 App. 700 entries in kata, kumite, team fight and tanto dori (knife defence). It was the best arranged tournament I have ever been to. Re: I am a fighter. I don’t do kata.

I think kata training is very useful for fighters. It is an excellent tool for developing coordination, and kata is the best way to learn how to generate power and make powerful attacks and blocks in all directions. Wado kata helps us to develop speed. All top fighters need to: 1. Have good techniqu...

Re: Moving up in ranks

In ...

Re: Moving up in ranks

Bob Nash, thank you for an excellent post. Internal power is a very interesting topic. I have also seen and felt the effect of the super human like power many times. I have read a lot about internal power in chinese arts (taiji, bagua, hsing-yi) and some japanese arts (aikido, daito ryu) and religio...

Re: First Competition in 11 years

Hi Shaun, Kumite is still about controlling distance and angle of attack. In local and national competitions the fighting has not changed much from 10 years ago. (But in the top international competitions like the world championships there has been a lot of changes in tactics and techniques.) Be pre...
