Re: selfdefense (comedy)

Haha,

I remember when I was accosted on my last Secret Ninja Mission by a rifle wielding sentry. I could really have used that Ninja knife technique.....

Which is/are your favourite Kata?

Konnichiwa. Just a general question for you all. What is/are your favourite Kata within Wado Ryu and/or any other style for that matter and why? I understand some people may learn Kata from other styles to note differences and practical application etc. I am currently enjoying Bassai and Wanshu. Bas...

Re: Black Belts registered in Japan

I guess your question is about legitimation (being in accordance with established or accepted patterns and standards). Fair question. But difficult to answer. To illustrate the pitfalls of legitimation: In the Netherlands, the most legitimate body to issue dan grades is KBN, the Dutch Karate Federa...

Re: Black Belts registered in Japan

Well, I think that that has answered my hodge podge of nonsense I have asked. I thought that there would have been certain checks in place to check someone's authenticity before they opened a dojo. In that case, anyone could learn a Karate style via book or video and claim to be a black belt and ope...

Re: syllabus differences

Furthermore, I would be interested to hear from other wado folk on how they conduct a Nidan geri jodan within your respected dojo. Do you execute it as the double jump kick like the name suggests or more of a tobi maegeri jodan? Ichiro Hi ichiro, You can practice both Ways. As for Nidan geri, THE f...

Re: Black Belts registered in Japan

Konnichiwa watashi no tomodachi. A thought occured to me recently (I know. I was shocked too). As the title suggests. Do all Wado Ryu Black Belts get registered in Japan? Or is it just a scam I have seen on the web to get money out of people, or an ego thing? Strange question I know. It's just that...

Re: syllabus differences

As mentioned in the post above. The renraku waza have changed. I found this strange when I attended a different wikf dojo away from home. I have never seen this and don't even know how to understand it or where to start. Any help our videos out there on these particular renraku waza? 1st - HIDARI HA...
