Re: Does anyone else play golf?
I play tennis on the side. Enjoy it quite a bit but as I near 50, the hard court is harder on the knees than it used to be. Like the clay courts if I can play on 'em.

Re: Moving up in ranks
Don't post here often but I just passed my blue belt grading. Still loving Wado and if anything my enthusiasm is increasing the higher up I go. For me, the best martial art style I've trained in.

Training through injuries
So I broke two fingers on my left hand during our last class sparring. My left is my dominant hand (ie writing hand) and I'm wondering if anyone else here has every done that and how they maintained their training through recuperating. I broke them by trying to redirect a kick with an open hand like...

Re: Moving up in ranks
Thanks oneya!
Got my syllabus for the next belt and I've got my work cut out for me with the spinning back kick. I always get dizzy doing that technique. Any helpful hints as my inner ear is not so good.

Re: Moving up in ranks
I am now Green Advanced. Working towards Blue belt now with things like Pinan Yondan (already know it- my favourite kata thus far!) and Oyo #2. Some health issues have precluded me from training as vigorously as I'd like but I'm still plugging away.

Re: Still plugging away
I graded for my advanced green and passed. Blew through my sanbon and Pinan Sandan with no issues. I've been at this belt for almost a year and ended up working ahead on Pinan Yondan and sanbon high block 4. The higher up I get the more interested I become in Wado.

Re: Still plugging away
Last week he had us working on shifting lunge punch. My forearms were sure sore after that class. Could you explain what this is? I'm thinking you mean tobikomizuki, but may well be wrong. Gary Hi Gary. Yes that is indeed what we were working on. Our instructor was ensuring we were blocking the att...

Still plugging away
Hi all. Been busy of late with the day job and a couple music projects but I haven't wavered in my Wado training. I'm studying with Rick Iosue who taught alongside Michael Ham. He's pretty hard core and continually stresses practicality in our classes- meaning full intent and proper form. He also sh...

Re: Moving up in ranks
I usually go to class 2 to 3 times per week. I've had to amend my training a little due to health concerns but it should clear up shortly in the New Year and will resume my training. I got together with my friend and he's a pretty dedicated fellow. It's not surprising that he's moved up quickly in h...
