Re: Question for Oneya (and others)
Whether there is any credibility to the statement you've quoted there, well, personally, I doubt it, but I wasn't around then so its one point of view (or agenda if you're cynical..). You can form your own judgement though - just look up the Pathe news reel films to see how competent European karat...

Re: Question for Oneya (and others)
I only direct this question to Onyea due to the fact that I have seen the old photo's on his website but I'm sure some of you have valuable information.. I have had a short Wado life compared to most on this forum but during my research and talking to people one name alway crops up... Fujii Hisaomi...

Re: Wado in the USA
Even Suzuki Sensei slammed Ajari in his autobiography. Ajari is mental. But here is the thing. Ajari may be delusional but he does not steal or cheat. Doesn't everyone have a crazy Uncle? David Chambers won't have anything to do with Ajari after their short lived business venture. David's wife who ...

Re: Wado in the USA
It's good to read Chris's perspective from the (Toshio?) Osaka side. I gather he was from Nihon University as was Kurobane. Bob - regarding the 'dysfunction', it's difficult to get a perspective on this from here - its seems to be something between you and Ajari and if some of it is private is proba...

Wado in the USA
On another thread we talked about Wado in USA and Bob gave a view of who he saw as future high grade material there. Looking through the Wadokai competion programmes it shows there are many more registered members in USA (each world cup they have a programme which includes current official branch me...

Re: JKF Wadokai seminar Sweden
I hope the seminar is going well.
Will you be able to post up some pictures of the training? Maeda really has good timing, quite something to see.

Re: Sakagami Sensei
So the Euros on this board has something to strive for - to be the first!. Blackcat, Gary, perhaps someday you guys can be the first true JKF Wadokai 8th dan. I doubt it, not for me anyway. Shimura sensei told me how much training he puts in each week, I wish I could do half that and have him as in...

Re: JKF Wadokai Seminar - Manchester
Really enjoyed the film Kate, thanks for putting it up there. I had some trouble getting it to work but eventually solved that by opening it with windows media player from explorer. Shep - try saving it down first rather than just opening it - it' should be obvious then which file you have to open. ...

Re: Sakagami Sensei
I don't think its quite like that Shep. Suzuki has been 8th dan a very long time, his group do not have any higher grade than 8th Dan. Renmei group go to 10th Dan, so there are a couple of 9th dans apart from him. Wadokai group go to 8th Dan (although Arakawa sensei is 9th Dan in JKF), so in Europe ...

I'll second that Shep. I think he received it at the Aiwakai 60 year anniversary event last month.shep wrote:Hot off the press - I've just heard that Sakagami sensei has been awarded 8th Dan by JKF Wadokai. Congratulations to him
